A New Mexico court ordered Meta to pay $25 billion in civil penalties following a jury finding concerning representations about user data and content moderation. AP and the Santa Fe New Mexican reported the judgment; Thomas Höppner added legal commentary. Meta has said it will appeal. This is a significant legal development to follow, but the judgment does not itself announce a new advertiser setting, campaign restriction or immediate operational change in Ads Manager.
