I'm an ecommerce consultant based in Newcastle, working mostly with Shopify stores on organic search and the product feeds that sit behind Shopping.
I found SEO in 2010, spent ten years agency side finishing as Head of SEO, and set up on my own as Ferguseo in 2025. Along the way I've worked on close to 100 Shopify migrations.
Where I overlap with paid media is the feed. A Shopping campaign is only as good as the titles, attributes and landing pages it points at, so a lot of my work is getting those right: rewriting feed titles around how people actually search, fixing Merchant Center issues, and making sure the product page converts once the click lands. I also run Google Ads for a couple of clients, mostly Shopping-led.
I'm into measurement too, particularly what GA4 can and can't tell you about traffic from AI assistants.
I write a weekly newsletter, Ecommerce Prioritised, and led the ecommerce SEO masterclass at BrightonSEO in 2025.
Happy to talk feeds, Shopping, migrations, or anything where paid and organic search meet.
Gus Pelogia and Ian Ferguson have both flagged the launch of Screaming Frog v24's MCP Server, which lets users run crawls directly inside Claude Desktop. The setup involves grabbing the MCP extension from Screaming Frog's docs, installing it via Claude Desktop settings, and restarting.
