BigQuery Graph capabilities launch in Preview, enabling GQL queries without ETL
Axel Thevenot has flagged that Google Cloud has launched BigQuery Graph capabilities in Preview, enabling Graph Query Language (GQL) to be used directly within BigQuery on existing tables with no ETL required. SQL and GQL can be mixed in the same workflow, built-in graph visualisation is included, and the feature is optimised for large-scale analytical queries.

Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means network and relationship analysis on advertising data: audience overlap, attribution path graphs, product affinity: can now be built directly in BigQuery without a separate graph database, relevant for teams already using BigQuery as their measurement layer.
