Bing Webmaster Tools adds page-level citation data for AI grounding queries
Microsoft has updated the AI Performance Dashboard in Bing Webmaster Tools to surface bidirectional citation insights: advertisers and SEOs can now see which specific pages are being cited for a given grounding query, and which grounding queries are driving citations to a specific page. Aleyda Solís flagged the update as a direct response to community feedback, tagging the Bing team by name.

What changed
The addition closes a significant visibility gap: previously, AI citation data was available only at a high level, without the granularity needed to optimise individual pages for AI-mediated discovery.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means Bing Webmaster Tools is now worth revisiting as a measurement surface for AI search visibility: particularly for brands where Bing and Copilot represent meaningful traffic, or as a proxy for understanding citation patterns before equivalent tooling exists in Google Search Console.
