PPC reporting tools: connectors, dashboards and costs

Choose your reporting destination before choosing a subscription. A connector moves data into a spreadsheet, dashboard or warehouse; a reporting application also provides the presentation your client sees. Your shortlist should reflect who maintains the data, who reads the report and what happens when a source stops refreshing.

A PRACTICAL EVALUATION

How to choose PPC reporting tools

01

Check the difficult data first

Test a report that uses the fields, breakdowns and historical range your team actually needs. Reconcile spend and conversions against the source platform with matching time zones and attribution settings. A connector logo alone does not confirm that a particular field or breakdown is available.

02

Budget for ownership as well as access

Compare the subscription together with setup, dashboard maintenance and investigation time. Count accounts, sources, destinations and users. Ask how historical backfills, additional refreshes and client access affect the plan, and how you can export the work if you leave.

03

Rehearse a broken refresh

Ask how expired permissions, connector failures and schema changes appear to your team. Decide who gets an alert, how stale data is labelled and how the report recovers. A polished dashboard is useful only if the person reading it can trust the reporting period and completeness.

Common questions

Is Supermetrics an alternative to AgencyAnalytics?

They overlap in the broader reporting workflow, but the catalogue places them in different starting groups. Supermetrics moves marketing data into reporting destinations; AgencyAnalytics provides client reporting, dashboards and portals. Compare the complete workflow and any additional presentation tools you would need.

Which reporting tool is best for an agency?

There is no tested winner in this collection. An agency that maintains its own reporting models has different needs from one that needs ready-made client dashboards. Shortlist on data coverage, client presentation, maintenance effort and the cost of your actual account portfolio.

Why can two dashboards show different conversion totals?

Before blaming the connector, reconcile the definition of the metric, reporting date, time zone, attribution window and last refresh. Record those choices in the report so a client knows what is being compared. Ask the vendor about any remaining discrepancy using a reproducible example.
