GA4 AI Assistants channel instructions are published, but non-functional
Google has added documentation for creating an AI Assistants channel in GA4: a dedicated channel grouping intended to capture traffic from AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. Dana DiTomaso flagged, via Jason Dodge , that the published instructions do not work: the channel grouping configuration cannot be correctly mapped without additional steps that are not yet documented.
