Amazon Seller Assistant can now check review sharing eligibility by variation
Amazon has added a new capability to Seller Assistant in Seller Central: sellers can now query which of their product variations are eligible for review sharing under the policy update that took effect from February 12, 2026. That policy restricted review sharing to variations with only minor differences: such as colour, pattern, or pack quantity: and removed shared reviews from variations with significant functional differences.
This update uses a PMC cover because no suitable source image was available when checked on 8 Sept 2026. Available source and video links are retained.
What changed
Key clarifications published alongside the feature: Vine reviews will be reinstated to their original child ASINs for products no longer eligible for review sharing, subject to Vine policy limits; star ratings and review counts on search results pages now reflect only eligible shared reviews; Best Sellers Rank is not affected. Review sharing eligibility is determined by variation theme attribute: a product listed with both flavour and size variations will have size reviews shared but flavour excluded. If variations are being used inconsistently or include significant product differences, reviews will not be shared across any variations.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means using Seller Assistant in Seller Central to audit your variation structures before the category rollout completes on May 31, 2026, and correcting any mismatched variation themes (such as quantity variation used for colour differences) to ensure eligible reviews are shared correctly.
