AWS and OpenAI expand partnership with Bedrock integration
AWS and OpenAI have announced a major expansion of their partnership, bringing OpenAI's latest models into Amazon Bedrock, launching Codex on Bedrock for AI-powered software development at scale, and introducing Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents powered by OpenAI for production-ready agents in the cloud. All three components are in limited preview.

What changed
The deal is structurally consequential because it places frontier AI models on the infrastructure most enterprises already operate on. For marketing-ops teams running on AWS, the path from experimentation to production now runs through familiar tooling: IAM, CloudWatch, VPC controls: rather than third-party model APIs. The AWS-OpenAI tie-up sits alongside Microsoft's evolving (now non-exclusive) OpenAI relationship and Anthropic's Google Cloud partnership as the three big-cloud AI distribution channels.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means enterprise marketing teams already on AWS gain a sanctioned path to OpenAI models without leaving the existing security and compliance perimeter. Particularly relevant for teams whose previous OpenAI experimentation was blocked by procurement, security review, or data-sovereignty constraints.
