Meta AI Developer Assistant goes live for Business Messaging
Meta has launched the Meta AI Developer Assistant for Business Messaging: a new developer-facing AI assistant that helps developers build, debug, and optimise code for WhatsApp Business and Messenger integration. The assistant runs within the Meta for Developers environment and surfaces contextual help, code suggestions, and troubleshooting guidance for the Business Messaging APIs.

What changed
For paid-media practitioners, the relevance is the broader Meta product surface: advertisers running conversational commerce on WhatsApp or Messenger now have a sanctioned developer tooling path that lowers the technical bar to building integrations. The assistant is positioned similarly to Microsoft's Copilot in the development surface: AI-assisted developer workflow as the default for Business Messaging builds.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means brands running or scoping WhatsApp Business or Messenger commerce flows can now budget for materially faster integration cycles. Particularly relevant for e-commerce and service brands in markets where WhatsApp is a primary commerce channel, where Business Messaging development has historically been a bottleneck.
