Meta Pixel AI enrichment excluded from special ad categories; Location Fees take effect April 20
The Meta Pixel AI enrichment feature is explicitly excluded for advertisers in special ad categories: financial products and services, employment, health, and housing. Meta's existing consent frameworks and Business Tools terms continue to govern what data can be shared.

What changed
Advertisers retain the ability to disable the enrichment feature at any time after their 30-day notification window.
Separately, Meta's Location Fees: announced in March: take effect on April 20, 2026. The fees cover Digital Service Taxes in Austria (5%), France (3%), Italy (3%), Spain (3%), Turkey (5%), and the United Kingdom (2%), applied based on where impressions are delivered. They appear as a separate line item on invoices. Google and Amazon already pass equivalent DST costs to advertisers.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means two actions: review the Pixel AI enrichment notification against your privacy disclosures before the 30-day window closes; and update budget models for campaigns targeting the six DST markets: add the applicable percentage to your effective CPM calculations and flag the new invoice line item to finance teams.
