OpenAI Agents SDK gains sandbox execution, filesystem tools, and MCP support
OpenAI has updated its Agents SDK with a more capable harness for building agentic workflows. New capabilities include: configurable memory, sandbox-aware orchestration, filesystem tools, MCP tool use, shell execution, and file editing support.

What changed
Native sandbox execution is now available, supporting multiple providers and a portable Manifest abstraction for defining workspaces, files, and storage inputs. The update is generally available through the API at standard pricing.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means the Agents SDK is now a more complete infrastructure layer for building custom paid media automation agents: particularly relevant for teams developing bespoke reporting, bid management, or campaign monitoring pipelines outside of native platform tooling.
