Reddit adds a Campaign Planner and a campaign-level Optimization Score
Reddit Ads Manager gains a Campaign Planner that predicts reach, impressions and cost before launch and shows audience activity and dominant subreddit themes, plus an Optimization Score at campaign level with tailored recommendations; both are "rolling out to all advertisers through October". Campaign budget optimisation is "now available", in beta for Sales, Lead generation and App promotion. Reddit's claim that advertisers scoring 80% or higher saw 19.6% lower blended CPA is a correlation with the methodology in footnotes. A forecast before spending, so treat the score as a checklist rather than a performance promise.

Earlier coverage and context (2026-10-20)
Reddit announced campaign planning, optimisation scores and campaign budget optimisation on 20 October. Sirena Jenks, Preston Landers and Jenna Little co-authored the release, which describes tools for preparing campaigns and allocating spend across ad groups.
The planner forecasts reach, impressions and costs. Advertisers can compare versions with different budgets, audiences, objectives and placements, then turn a selected plan into a campaign draft. Community engagement and conversation context can also inform the planning process.
A separate optimisation score pairs a 0–100 rating with recommendations. Campaign budget optimisation allocates a campaign’s budget across ad groups. Reddit says the planner and scores are rolling out through October; budget optimisation for Sales, Lead Generation and App Promotion remains in beta, while Awareness and Consideration and Traffic are available.
These distinctions matter when reviewing an account. A feature listed in an announcement may have different availability by objective. Reddit’s reported performance associations also do not establish that applying recommendations will cause the same result for another advertiser.
Using the forecasts responsibly
Treat a plan as a scenario with assumptions, rather than a commitment to deliver a particular volume. Save the selected audience, period and budget alongside the forecast so the eventual result can be compared with the conditions under which it was produced.
A useful comparison changes one meaningful constraint at a time. For example, comparing a broader audience at the same budget can reveal a different planning trade-off from simply increasing spend. Changing both at once makes it harder to explain the difference to a client or finance team.
Keep business requirements visible when assessing recommendations. A higher platform score is not a substitute for a profitable acquisition target, suitable creative or a landing page that fulfils the offer. Similarly, centralising a budget should be an explicit decision about how much freedom the campaign has to redistribute spend between its ad groups.
