ChatGPT Voice Work extends spoken requests into working tasks
OpenAI’s 23 September release notes describe Voice Work across documents, presentations, spreadsheets, apps and browser work. Access depends on the relevant Voice and Work capabilities, permissions and usage limits.

What changed
Unfinished tasks can continue in text. The practical value is starting or refining a task conversationally while retaining a reviewable output; voice access alone does not imply access to every work tool.
Try a bounded task with a clear written output and inspect the handoff from spoken request to task instructions. Confirm connected-app permissions before including business information. Review ambiguity in names, dates and numbers, since a convenient spoken interaction does not remove the need to verify the final work.
Spoken work requests can be convenient when the user is away from a keyboard, but they often omit context that would be explicit in a written brief. The transition into a working task should therefore make the intended outcome inspectable. A misunderstood date, account name or instruction can matter more than the convenience gained from speaking the request.
For a first evaluation, use a task whose result can be checked without sending messages, changing records or affecting a live account. Compare the written task interpretation with what was said, then review the completed output. If the workflow involves connected applications, verify the scope of access and the point at which approval is required. The release note describes a product capability; it does not establish that every spoken request can safely become an unattended action or that all plans and workspaces have identical access.
Why it matters for advertisers
A voice request that becomes a working task crosses from conversation into action. The important distinction is what information and connected applications the task can use, and how the user checks the resulting work.
