What changed

This is a consultation on implementation guidance, not confirmation that every DSP or publisher already supports the interfaces. The announcement belongs with programmatic news; the detailed guide is a resource for teams planning live-event buying and delivery integrations.

Live events can create rapid changes in viewing and advertising demand. The LEAP guide addresses interfaces for sharing information about those events and concurrent streams. The announcement is about an implementation document entering consultation, not a declaration that a common interface is already deployed across the market.

For a publisher, DSP or integration team, the useful next step is to examine the proposed data and interfaces against its actual planning and delivery process. Identify where event forecasts are produced, how changing concurrency is observed and which systems would consume the information. A guide can describe an approach without resolving every operational dependency for a specific organisation.

Public comments are due by 23 November. That is a consultation deadline, not an advertiser migration date or a date on which inventory will stop serving. Feedback should address the proposed implementation details; the existence of the consultation does not prove that a buying partner already supports them.

For media planners, ask which parts of an intended live-event workflow are available today and how the supplier handles changes in audience size. Keep an implementation proposal separate from contractual delivery commitments. A standardised interface could improve coordination, but the announcement does not guarantee a particular level of reach, fill or campaign performance.

IAB Tech Lab is the primary source and the announcement is dated 28 October. The news item records the consultation, while the detailed guide is also useful as a technical resource. Those roles can be linked without creating two duplicate launch stories.
