Amazon announces US FBA fee changes for January and February 2027

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Amazon announced its 2027 US Fulfillment by Amazon fee changes on 5 November. Sunny Jain’s signed post separates changes beginning on 15 January from storage and inventory changes beginning on 1 February.

What changed

From 15 January, Amazon says fulfilment fees will rise by approximately $0.19 per unit sold on average, while some fees will fall. The average is not the change for every SKU: a seller needs the applicable product and fulfilment details to calculate its own outcome. Amazon says the existing fuel and logistics surcharge is unchanged.

From 1 February, the storage-utilisation surcharge is eliminated and the aged-inventory surcharge becomes part of a single age-based monthly storage rate. Amazon describes that rate as flat or lower for inventory turning within six months, and higher for older stock.

The low-inventory-level fee also changes. The announcement says it applies only below 28 days of supply, using actual shipments over the four weeks before and after the assessment date. That calculation window should not be confused with a simple stock count on one day.

For a retail-media team, fulfilment and storage costs affect the margin available to support advertising, but the average fee increase does not determine an automatic new bid or ROAS target. Work with the seller’s unit economics and fee estimate for the relevant SKU. Amazon points sellers to a Fee Change Comparison dashboard within Profit Analytics for that comparison.
