Google Ads API v21 sunsets on 5 August
Google has issued a reminder on the Google Ads Developer Blog that version 21 of the Google Ads API will sunset on 5 August 2026. After that date, all v21 requests will begin to fail, so integrations still on v21 must migrate to a newer version to avoid disruption.
This update uses a PMC cover because no suitable source image was available when checked on 8 Sept 2026. Available source and video links are retained.
What changed
It is a routine deprecation notice, but a hard deadline for any team whose tooling still runs on the older version.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means engineering teams maintaining Google Ads API integrations should confirm they are off v21 before 5 August. Worth checking your API version now and scheduling the migration if anything still calls v21, since requests will fail once it sunsets.
