Google Marketing Platform · Status at source date: Announcement

Google Marketing Platform Drop introduces Gemini-led planning workflows

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Google’s first Marketing Platform Drop outlines a Gemini-powered Home experience for Search Ads 360 and curated media bundles for live sports and major events in the DV360 Marketplace. It also includes LinkedIn CTV access, covered separately in Paid Social. The announcement does not provide a full availability schedule for every capability. Check which parts your account can use, and keep proposed actions separate from approved changes to campaigns or media plans.

What changed

What this means in practice

The two Gemini workflows serve different decisions. Search Ads 360's Home experience concerns how a search marketer reviews and acts on account information. DV360 Marketplace bundles concern discovering and planning media around live sports and major events. Neither should be interpreted as blanket authorisation for automated changes to a campaign or a media commitment.

For search teams, define which proposed actions require human review and which business measures should support an optimisation decision. For programmatic teams, evaluate the inventory, audience fit, timing and commercial terms of a proposed bundle against the campaign brief. A convenient planning interface does not remove those checks.

Google's announcement does not supply a complete account-by-account rollout schedule. Confirm availability before promising a workflow to a client, and retain the distinction between a recommendation, an approved plan and an executed change. LinkedIn CTV access is covered in its own article because its buying route and US targeting scope are materially different from these planning features.

Glenn Thrope is the named author of Google’s announcement. This article groups the two planning workflows because they share that release, while the LinkedIn CTV integration has its own article and eligibility context. The grouping avoids duplicating the announcement without treating every feature as one identical rollout.
