Meta adds a security re-authentication step that disables edited ads
Bram Van der Hallen has spotted a new Meta security check triggered when ad sets are updated. After editing several ad sets, he was prompted to re-authenticate.

What changed
Once authentication was completed, Meta disabled every ad in those ad sets and required each to be manually reviewed and republished.
The check adds protection against suspicious account activity, but the flow is heavy-handed when an ad set contains many ads, since each must be re-enabled manually. It is an early-stage behaviour that may be refined, but advertisers managing large accounts should be aware it can take ads offline mid-edit.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means bulk edits on large ad sets can unexpectedly pause delivery until every ad is manually republished. Worth planning significant ad-set changes for lower-stakes windows and checking delivery immediately after, in case a re-authentication prompt has disabled live ads.
