Meta consolidates Value Rules into Placement, Audience, and Conversion location groups

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Meta is rolling out a Value Rules redesign that consolidates the feature into three distinct criteria groups: Placement, Audience, and Conversion location: and surfaces them contextually in Ads Manager rather than only in the legacy Advertising settings interface. Bram Van der Hallen has surfaced the change with a screenshot showing the new "Placement value rules" section appearing directly in the Placements selection step.

What changed

The structural significance is that Value Rules are gaining visibility throughout the campaign-creation workflow, rather than living on a separate settings surface that media buyers had to navigate deliberately. Bram's read: Meta is signalling that Value Rules will become a core part of ad-buying control going forward: bid-modifier-equivalent functionality is now front and centre in the buying flow.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means Meta advertisers who haven't been using custom Value Rules should treat this as the prompt to evaluate the feature. Worth testing Placement Value Rules first (e.g. paying more for desktop placements where conversion rate is higher), since the new placement-specific surface makes the relationship between rule and lever explicit at the configuration point.
