Meta duplicated-ad notice points advertisers to detected offers

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Bram Van der Hallen shared a Meta ad-duplication notice that says eligible promotions managed in Commerce Manager may be applied to the new ad. His screenshot also shows the Offer merchandising setting for displaying offers detected from a website and ads.

What changed

The distinction is important: the notice concerns the newly duplicated ad. It does not demonstrate that Meta retrospectively changed every existing ad with promotions disabled. The newsletter draft’s broader wording has been narrowed to match the visible evidence.

Van der Hallen warns advertisers to inspect the Commerce Manager setting as well as the ad-level promotion choice. In the screenshot, the setting to display detected offers is selected. That establishes the state of the pictured interface, not a universal default across every account.

For an advertiser duplicating a campaign around a seasonal offer, this creates a practical review point. Inspect the new ad’s preview and the relevant Commerce Manager offer settings before publishing. Confirm the validity of any detected offer against the website, especially where old coupon language remains accessible on a landing page.

An offer appearing in a preview should not be assumed to have the same configuration as the original ad. Equally, an account-level setting should not be changed without understanding which catalogue or ads it affects. The source does not provide a complete account-eligibility list or an official explanation of every interaction between these controls.

This remains a practitioner observation, with no universal rollout date or independent performance effect claimed. Van der Hallen is the First contributor for the report reviewed. His original composite screenshot is the evidence, including the duplication message and the Commerce Manager setting; the picture is not presented as an official Meta announcement.
