Microsoft Clarity launches AI Citations beta for visibility in AI answers
Microsoft Clarity has launched AI Citations in beta: a free feature that shows when site content is being used in AI answers, what prompts triggered the citation, and where competitors are being cited instead. The functionality builds on Microsoft's foundational partnerships, which underpin most leading AI assistants.

What changed
Christine Bookless has flagged the beta and notes that integration requires a CDN provider connection.
Microsoft is also expanding Clarity AI Visibility to surface which pages influence AI responses (even when no click results), how much of an AI response comes from a brand's own content versus competitors, and where peer brands are cited on topics the brand has not addressed. Microsoft is layering content gaps and authority-building recommendations into the dashboard.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means a free, structured way to measure AI search exposure for the first time. Worth checking the Clarity dashboard for an AI Visibility toggle to confirm beta access: and prioritising CDN integration for accounts where AI-driven discovery is a meaningful part of the customer journey.
