Walmart Marketplace updates Expected Ship Date calculations

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Daniel Sodkiewicz has flagged a Walmart Marketplace update changing Expected Ship Date calculations for seller-fulfilled orders. Previously, sellers with fulfilment lag time greater than 0 days could benefit from order cutoff times: orders placed after the cutoff could sometimes receive an extra business day before shipping.

What changed

Walmart will now ignore cutoff times when the lag time exceeds 0 days and will calculate the Ship By date directly from the order date.

Example: a seller with 1-day fulfilment lag and 2 PM cutoff, with an order placed Friday 5 PM, previously had Ship By pushed to Monday (no weekend operation). Now, Walmart calculates from the order date and the seller's working days, which may lead to earlier Ship By expectations.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means Walmart Marketplace sellers should review lag time settings and shipping workflows ahead of the change. Particularly relevant for sellers running tight fulfilment SLAs, where the cutoff-time buffer has been a structural part of shipping operations.
