Walmart Connect allows end dates to be added after Onsite Display launch

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Walmart Connect says Onsite Display campaigns or ad groups can receive an end date after launch, supporting End-of-Campaign report eligibility.

What changed

Walmart Connect’s October 2026 Display launch announcements say advertisers can add an end date to an Onsite Display campaign or ad group after it has launched. Walmart places the change under Campaign Manager and describes it as flexible end date management.

According to the announcement, the capability provides more flexibility to manage campaign timing and helps campaigns become eligible for End-of-Campaign reporting. The language is limited to adding an end date after launch; it does not say that other live settings, budgets or campaign structures can be changed because an end date has been added.

The linked banner-campaign guidance supplies an important constraint for campaign-level setups. It says a campaign without an end date can use only a daily budget, while total budgets are available only for campaigns with an end date. Crucially, it says that if a campaign launches without an end date, its budget type cannot be changed even if an end date is added later.

That distinction matters for interpreting the release. Post-launch timing flexibility does not convert a daily-budget, unlimited-schedule campaign into a total-budget campaign. The guide repeats that budget type cannot be changed after a campaign goes live, including when an end date is subsequently added. Walmart’s announcement and setup guidance therefore support two separate statements: an end date may be added after launch, and the original budget type remains unchanged.

The campaign guide also says campaign-level dates, times and budgets are shared across the ad groups in the campaign. If dates and budgets are set at the ad-group level, the release announcement separately says an end date can be added to an Onsite Display ad group after launch. The release does not specify rollout geography or provide a separate walkthrough for live ad groups.

For reporting, Walmart explicitly links an end date to eligibility for End-of-Campaign reporting. That is not a claim that every campaign with a newly added date will immediately receive a report, nor does it establish any additional measurement changes. It is a stated eligibility connection.

The release material is dated only to October 2026, not to a specific day. An exact launch day is not specified.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

Teams can close an already-live flight for timing and reporting purposes, while retaining the budget model selected at launch.

What to check next

  • Identify live Onsite Display flights that need a defined reporting endpoint.
  • Check whether dates and budgets are managed at campaign or ad-group level before editing.
  • Do not plan on switching a launched campaign from daily to total budget after adding an end date.
