What changed

A more explicit connection workflow

Amazon’s redesigned Ads Data Manager separates its workspace into Sources, Datasets and Destinations. The announcement also identifies data-quality diagnostics, integrations and no-code tag configuration.

This follows an earlier expansion to sponsored ads, but the focus here is the more detailed workspace and connection workflow. Some capabilities remain in early access, so a visible or announced option should not be assumed to be universally available.

Inspect before changing integrations

The new structure suggests a useful review sequence. First identify each connected source and its owner. Then inspect how the resulting dataset is described and where it is activated. Finally, read the available data-quality diagnostics before changing a connection.

That sequence is editorial guidance, not a required Amazon implementation process. Its purpose is to prevent a change in one workspace area from being assessed without considering downstream activation.

A useful change test is to capture the current source-to-destination path, make one controlled adjustment and compare diagnostics before and after it. If several connections change together, it may become difficult to identify which change affected dataset quality or activation.

Treat locale timing carefully

Locale versions of the announcement display different dates; the linked UK page shows 30 September. That is a documentation chronology issue, not proof that every region received the redesigned experience simultaneously.

Teams maintaining integrations should record the current configuration, assign an owner for diagnostics and note which capabilities are labelled early access. The announcement does not resolve retention, pricing, destination coverage or the consequences of a configuration change.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

Separating sources, datasets and destinations may make activation easier to inspect, but early-access scope and differing locale dates require cautious implementation review.

What to check next

  • Inventory connected sources, associated datasets and active destinations.
  • Review available data-quality diagnostics before altering a connection.
  • Record the relevant locale-page date, current configuration and early-access flags.
