Claude adds enterprise-managed authentication for connectors

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Anthropic has introduced enterprise-managed authentication for Claude connectors, announced on its Claude for Business account. Admins can authorise and authenticate a connector once at the organisation level through their identity provider: starting with Okta: and users gain access the first time they log in, with access staying consistent across Claude chat, Claude Code, and Cowork.

What changed

Admins can also require that a connector be added only through the managed route, keeping work and personal accounts separate. At launch, it works with Okta and connectors from Asana, Atlassian, Canva, Figma, Granola, Linear, and Supabase, with Slack coming soon, and is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans.

For marketing teams adopting AI tooling at scale, centralised, IdP-based authorisation is the kind of governance that moves an AI assistant from pilot to sanctioned enterprise deployment, with connector access managed at the organisation layer rather than per user.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means organisations standardising on Claude can govern connector access centrally through their identity provider rather than relying on individual users. Worth raising with IT or security teams if connector sprawl or inconsistent access has been a blocker to rolling AI tooling out more widely.
