Enhanced Conversions, Google Tag Manager gets major upgrades
Two foundational measurement tools get GA-level upgrades. Enhanced Conversions is being unified: combining the previously separate web and lead conversion tools into a single streamlined Enhanced Conversions module with end-to-end diagnostics, flexible setup via website tags or API imports, and a unified workflow.

What changed
Google's data: advertisers bidding on conversion value who implement Enhanced Conversions see an 8% incremental ROAS on Google Search campaigns (Google Conversion Lift Analysis, Global, 99 Conversion Lift studies run between April 2024 – April 2025).
Google Tag Manager is being upgraded with visual tagging (deploy measurement without manual Tag/Trigger/Variable setups via point-and-click on website elements) and optimised configuration for GTM containers (eliminating the need to load the Google tag JavaScript as an intermediary).
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means measurement infrastructure should be evaluated against the new unified Enhanced Conversions workflow and GTM visual tagging capabilities. Particularly relevant for teams where the previous tag setup has been a development-cycle bottleneck.
