What changed

The alpha exposes the conversion data previously visible only through the Analytics → Advertising → Conversion performance report, making it queryable programmatically for the first time. The API surface mirrors what GA and Google Ads customers see in the report UI, but is now accessible via the Data API v1 alpha.

The changelog entry confirming the alpha is dated 23 April 2026, with rollout still expanding: not every GA property has access yet. Search Engine Land has separately surfaced the alpha and noted the eligibility ramp; if your property doesn't yet show the new surface, please contact support.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means that measurement and analytics teams maintaining custom GA reporting pipelines can now pull cross-channel conversion data programmatically, eliminating the manual export from the Conversion performance report. Particularly relevant for agencies building client dashboards on top of GA data, or in-house teams running attribution analysis that has historically required reconciling multiple data sources.
