Google adds an NABP route to telemedicine advertiser certification
Google’s 4 November notice adds a certification route for telemedicine advertisers in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Advertisers accredited through NABP’s Healthcare Merchant Accreditation Program will be eligible to apply for Google Ads telemedicine certification when the updated policy is published.

What changed
This is an additional route. Google explicitly says the existing certification options in those countries are unaffected. Accreditation and Google certification are separate steps: an advertiser must obtain the NABP accreditation before applying to Google, rather than treating the accreditation itself as automatic permission to advertise.
The notice specifies November 2026 for the policy update but does not give an exact effective day. The posted date is 4 November. Those dates should remain separate in a compliance calendar, particularly for a team planning a new campaign around the availability of the application route.
Advertisers should check the current country-specific policy and certification application before making changes. The announcement does not broaden the geographical scope beyond the three named countries, and it does not remove other applicable healthcare-advertising requirements.
For an agency, the useful handover is a record of which certification route a client holds, which countries are targeted and which entity owns the application. This can prevent a new accreditation option being mistaken for a requirement to replace an existing valid route. Keep the official notice with that record so the team can distinguish an announced policy change from the application status of an individual account.
