Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork reaches general availability
Microsoft has made Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork generally available worldwide, flagged by Jack Rowbotham. Cowork executes complex, long-running, multi-tool tasks: the user defines the work, and Cowork runs it end-to-end, returning a completed result.

What changed
It is cloud-hosted, so tasks keep running after the user closes their laptop, and it pulls real context from the systems a business already runs through native Work IQ support. Microsoft says more than half the Fortune 500 used Cowork during its three-month Frontier preview.
It is part of the broader move toward agentic, task-completing AI in the workplace, where assistants are expected to carry out multi-step work rather than answer one-off prompts.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means marketing teams on Microsoft 365 gain an agent that can run extended, multi-step tasks against their own business data. Worth piloting on a defined, repeatable workflow to judge reliability before handing it anything business-critical.
