What changed

A reported beta for creator selection

Social Media Today reports that LinkedIn is testing Creator Discovery within its Creator Marketplace. Reported filters cover content type, creator industry and job function, audience demographics and Top Voices, with the aim of helping brands find creators for Thought Leader Ads and BrandLink.

General availability is expected in early 2027, according to the report. That is planned timing, not a confirmed launch date. The information does not establish current beta eligibility, market coverage, filter definitions, data freshness or whether every listed filter is available to each participant.

Begin with the campaign brief

Define the required audience and creator role before browsing. Specify relevant job functions and industries, useful content formats, any demographic requirement and whether the eventual work is intended for Thought Leader Ads or BrandLink. This prevents an expanded search interface from becoming a substitute for campaign strategy.

A useful beta test would enter the written criteria, review the resulting shortlist and inspect the creators’ actual content. Record where the filters produce plausible matches, exclude relevant candidates or return broad results. Audience data can support selection, but it should be weighed with subject expertise, brand suitability and the creator’s fit for the intended paid format.

Teams should also preserve the criteria used for each selection so choices can be explained later. A Top Voices filter, for example, may identify recognised profiles but does not independently establish audience relevance or creative suitability. Beta access and useful matching quality should be treated as separate findings.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

More granular filters could make LinkedIn creator selection more systematic, but planned availability, access and matching quality remain uncertain. A clear brief is still the basis for evaluation.

What to check next

  • Write audience, content and paid-format criteria before using Creator Discovery.
  • Confirm beta eligibility in the relevant account instead of assuming access.
  • Review shortlisted creators’ content and document where filter results match or miss the brief.
