Google adds Search Partners and Display selection to Performance Max in alpha
Google is testing partner selection in Performance Max, flagged by Arpan Banerjee. In an alpha, advertisers can choose whether their Performance Max campaigns serve on Search Partners: third-party search sites and apps beyond Google: and across the Google Display Network.

What changed
Both options are opted in by default, so advertisers who want to exclude them will need to actively uncheck them.
It is an early step toward the channel-level control that advertisers have long asked for in Performance Max, letting them decide which surfaces their budget reaches rather than accepting the full distribution. As an alpha, availability is limited, and the defaults are worth noting.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means more say over where Performance Max serves may be coming, but the opt-out-by-default design means you must act to exclude Search Partners or Display. Worth checking the setting if and when it appears in your accounts, especially where partner or display placements have underperformed.
