Merchant API adds alpha UCP performance reports

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Google’s October 2026 Merchant API release notes document two alpha reporting views for Universal Commerce Protocol activity across Google surfaces, including AI Mode in Search and Gemini. The addition gives eligible integrations a programmatic route to checkout and conversion reporting; it is not another announcement of UCP checkout itself.

What changed

UcpAgenticPerformanceView covers account-level funnel, orders, cancellations and cart transfers, segmented by date and customer country. UcpAgenticProductPerformanceView provides product-level buy-button clicks. The dedicated guide describes support for standalone, sub-account and advanced-account reporting through the v1alpha endpoint, with a date condition required in every query.

A reporting caveat worth checking

Google warns that mixing currency-valued metrics with ordinary counts can split or omit rows without purchase values. Its examples separate overall funnel counts from purchase and cart values by currency. Teams building dashboards should preserve that distinction rather than assume every query returns comparable totals.

The practical value is repeatable monitoring of an additional commerce journey. Compare the API output with the corresponding Merchant Center view, using consistent dates, countries and account scope, before combining it with other channel reporting. A buy-button click is not the same metric as a completed order.

Date note: this is an October release-note item. The dedicated guide displays a 26 October documentation-update date; 29 October is the reviewed coverage date. Neither establishes the exact feature launch day. The feature remains experimental and subject to change. The accompanying image is an actual extract of Google’s documentation, captured on 30 October.

Because these are alpha interfaces, record the API version and query alongside exported results. This makes later changes in the reporting schema easier to distinguish from genuine changes in shopping behaviour.
