OpenAI · Status at source date: Account observation

ChatGPT ad observation shows a Learn more arrow and dotted underline

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Brodie Clark's 23 October SERP timeline entry records a ChatGPT text-ad variation with a Learn more link, an arrow and a dotted underline. The example was also shared through SERP Alert, which links back to Clark's original notes.

What changed

This is a presentation observation. It does not establish a universal rollout, a new campaign objective or a control that every advertiser can choose in Ads Manager. The evidence concerns the appearance of the link in the pictured result.

For advertisers monitoring an emerging channel, such changes can matter because the visual treatment of a link may influence how a person recognises and interacts with an ad. The screenshot itself does not measure click-through rate or demonstrate that the variation improves performance.

If a team encounters the same treatment, record the date, device and surrounding result alongside the screenshot. Those details help distinguish a repeated observation from a one-off rendering and make later comparisons more useful. Do not infer the scope of a test from the appearance of one account or session.

This update is separate from ChatGPT Ads country expansion, creative enhancements and location targeting. Those are different developments with their own evidence and dates. Clark is credited for the original dated observation identified in this review; the publisher's resharing post is retained as supporting context.

For advertisers reviewing the format, record the full visible ad, its label and the destination reached after the call to action. That evidence helps separate a change in the presentation of an existing ad from a new placement, bidding option or targeting capability. A different arrow or underline is not evidence that campaign settings changed. Compare observations over time and across eligible accounts before making creative or budget decisions based on the appearance of one result. Wider availability remains unconfirmed.
