Google Ads changes budget pacing for campaigns with ad schedules from 1 June

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

As a reminder, Thomas Eccel recalls the material spend impact of the new ad schedule changes: from 1 June 2026, Google will change how it paces campaign budgets based on ad schedules. Today, Google paces around active scheduled days (e.g., 22 weekdays per month for a weekdays-only campaign); from 1 June, Google will pace toward the full monthly cap (30.4x daily budget): speeding up spend on active days.

What changed

Quick math from Thomas's example: a €10/day weekdays-only campaign currently spends ~€220/month; from June 1, it will spend ~€304/month: same daily budget setting, +38% more monthly spend. The 2x daily cap and 30.4x monthly cap remain unchanged, and disabled days still don't serve: but active days will spend much more aggressively.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means accounts running ad schedules should audit daily budget settings before 1 June. Particularly urgent for campaigns where the schedule was the primary spend-control lever and where the +38% potential spend lift wasn't budgeted for. Worth flagging to finance teams before the month-end budgeting cycle.
