Google Ads moves to monthly budget pacing for scheduled campaigns from 1 June

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

From 1 June 2026, Google Ads will pace scheduled campaigns toward the full monthly cap of 30.4× the daily budget, regardless of how many days the schedule allows ads to run. Previously, a weekdays-only campaign with a $100 daily budget paced toward roughly $2,200 monthly; under the new rules, the same setup could spend up to $3,040, concentrating delivery on active days within the unchanged 2× daily overspend ceiling.

What changed

The 2× daily overspend rule and 30.4× monthly ceiling are unchanged. Local Services Ads and select campaign types are excluded.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means advertisers running tight schedules: weekdays only, business hours only: should recalculate daily budgets before 1 June. Divide your monthly target by 30.4 to land on the daily budget that delivers your intended spend. Failing to act will produce a higher-than-expected first invoice.
