Google Ads text guidelines now support all languages
Google Ads has expanded its text guidelines feature to support all available languages. The feature was initially English-only, then extended to Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Japanese, and Dutch, and is now globally available.

What changed
Advertisers can apply Term Exclusions to block up to 25 specific words or phrases, and Messaging Restrictions to guide tone and style with up to 40 rules. Text guidelines appear when text customisation is turned on in campaign settings, helping brands maintain consistency and avoid off-brand AI-generated messaging across multilingual campaigns.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means global campaigns can now use the same brand guardrails regardless of language.
