Image to Animation tool spotted in Google Ads ahead of Marketing Live
Dario Zannoni has spotted a new Image to Animation tool in Google Ads, designed to convert static product images or banners into 4-second animated clips without sound. The feature is positioned as a lighter-weight version of the existing Create video from images tool: narrower in scope (single scene, no audio) but easier to deploy for advertisers who need simple video assets quickly.

What changed
Output can be used directly in Performance Max campaigns or fed into multi-scene Video Builder templates.
The help page for the feature has been published, but the tool is not yet broadly available in accounts. Google Marketing Live on 20 May is likely the date the broader rollout will be announced.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means low-cost video creation is becoming an in-platform default for PMax: particularly relevant where the auto-generated PMax videos have been underperforming or off-brand. Worth flagging to creative teams as a potential alternative to commissioning short product animations externally.
