Meta opens Customer Lifecycle Strategy to all advertisers

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Meta announces Customer Lifecycle Strategy availability for all advertisers. Acquisition campaigns receive exclusion recommendations; the single Audience Label option remains a test.

The visible 9.3% recommendation is unrelated, account-specific context, not evidence of this feature’s performance. What changed

The broad-availability milestone concerns acquisition planning and existing-customer exclusions. When a marketer specifies that a campaign is for acquisition, Meta says the feature provides recommendations about excluding existing customers. The stated purpose is to help advertisers focus acquisition activity on new customers without manually building every exclusion from the beginning.

Audience Label should be kept distinct from that general availability announcement. Meta says it is testing ways to simplify exclusions, including the possibility of excluding an entire group of existing customers through a single Audience Label. The evidence supports a test, not broad availability, universal access, or a confirmed rollout date for that option.

The new element is Meta’s official 6 October 2026 statement of broad availability. PMC previously covered practitioner observations by Govind Singh and Vivek Gupta; those earlier reports and credits remain intact. The accompanying archived interface image illustrates the earlier observed setting, rather than proving the appearance of the October rollout in every account.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

Our practical interpretation: acquisition and retention need different success measures. Exclusion recommendations can simplify setup, but they do not establish that every recorded conversion came from a genuinely new customer. Check customer definitions and CRM outcomes alongside platform reporting.

What to check next

  • Check acquisition campaigns against your definition of an existing customer.
  • Review the proposed exclusions and the quality of the customer audiences supporting them.
  • Keep Audience Label trials separate from the broadly available feature and monitor new-customer outcomes.
