Microsoft Advertising adds LinkedIn job seniority targeting, Data-Driven Attribution, and Copilot diagnostics

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Microsoft has paired its Spring Summit announcements with a refresh of the Microsoft Advertising Platform web experience and a set of operational upgrades. Expanded LinkedIn profile targeting now lets advertisers build cohorts by job seniority: across 10 levels from CXO to Director: and by custom company lists for account-based marketing.

What changed

The pilot is currently live in the US and Canada for Search ads.

Data-Driven Attribution is now available in the Microsoft Advertising Platform, replacing last-click as the default for advertisers in beta. One early customer, Vego Garden, reportedly nearly doubled conversion volume while keeping CPA stable.

Two new Copilot capabilities also enter the platform: Performance shift root cause analysis explains why a campaign's results changed week-on-week: flagging delivery, bidding, or competitive signals: and Conversion tracking diagnostics validates UET tag and conversion goal setup before issues affect performance. Microsoft also reports advertisers using Performance Max see an average 8% lift in incremental conversions.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means Microsoft is closing several gaps with Google: attribution sophistication, audience precision, and in-platform diagnostics. Particularly relevant for B2B and account-based teams who previously had to push LinkedIn segments through a separate buy.
