What changed

Review the actual prohibited categories against relevant ads and destinations. This is a dated catch-up, not an October 26–November 1 announcement, and it should not be read as a blanket restriction on family or education advertising.

The notice reorganises the advertising rules and distinguishes the consequences attached to different violation categories. The operational question is which category, if any, applies to an ad or destination. It is not enough to identify a general connection with children and assume that the same restriction or suspension process applies to every business.

Teams working on relevant campaigns can review the prohibited content categories, destination material and account notices before the stated enforcement date. Keep a record of the wording used for that review and the assets or pages examined. If an issue is identified, assess it through the normal account-policy process rather than treating this article as an individual eligibility decision.

Google distinguishes egregious violations that can trigger immediate suspension from other violations for which advance warning is described. That distinction should be retained in any internal summary. It would be misleading either to promise warning in every case or to say that every breach results in immediate suspension.

The January date is an enforcement milestone, while 22 October is the notice's publication date. Neither should be replaced with the day this article is uploaded. The story appears in Week 44 as a dated catch-up so readers can consider the forthcoming change without mistaking it for a fresh announcement that week.

Google is the unsigned official source and Barry Schwartz is retained as reporting credit. The article does not infer a named Google author or award discovery priority from the fact that a publisher covered the notice. Review the linked policy for its exact categories and current wording.
