ChatGPT Ads expands to 26 more countries and passes 100,000 advertisers
OpenAI announced on 21 October that ChatGPT Ads is expanding to 26 additional countries, bringing its stated availability to 89 markets. This is a geographic expansion, separate from the location-group selector observed in Ads Manager.

What changed
The expansion includes 14 more Latin American countries, with Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru among the named markets. OpenAI also identifies Nigeria, South Africa, Serbia, Ukraine, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Advertisers can enter through Ads Manager or technology partners.
OpenAI says more than 100,000 advertisers have run campaigns since launch. That is a cumulative company-reported figure, not a count of currently active advertisers or evidence of campaign effectiveness. The announcement also discusses future formats and measurement capabilities; those plans should not be treated as features released with this expansion.
The availability help page adds an account-level distinction: the legal entity paying for advertising must be based in a supported country. A market appearing in a targeting selector alone does not establish that every business can create or fund an account there.
Planning a market test
For a brand considering one of the additional markets, separate three decisions: whether the business can access the service, whether it can fulfil demand in that market, and whether it has a measurement plan for evaluating a test. These are related checks but answer different questions.
For example, a retailer with suitable Spanish-language creative may still need different delivery promises, prices and landing pages for Chile and Colombia. Treating them as one operational market can obscure those differences. Establish the intended audience and a clear spending limit before comparing results with existing channels.
Keep the announcement date attached to this story. The expansion is not evidence that a previously observed account control launched on the same day, nor a reason to reset the dates of earlier ChatGPT Ads coverage.
