Four new Performance Max controls add first-party exclusions, placement reporting, budget forecasting, and audience demographics
Google has shipped four additions to Performance Max's controls and reporting suite. Advertisers can now exclude specific first-party audience lists from PMax campaigns: providing the targeting guardrails that have been the most consistently requested capability since PMax launched.

What changed
Placement reporting gains network segmentation, surfacing visibility into where ads actually run across channels.
A new Budget Report shows monthly spend limits, monthly forecasts, and daily budget consumption patterns, helping advertisers distinguish between budget-constrained and bidding-constrained campaigns. Audience demographic reporting has also been upgraded, enabling analysis of which age ranges and gender segments are driving value at the campaign level.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means PMax now has a meaningful set of controls and diagnostic tools. The Budget Report in particular closes a significant gap: when a campaign shows "limited by budget," checking whether actual ROAS exceeds target is now faster: and the right response (raise tROAS, not budget) is easier to evidence.
