Google has released v23.1 of the Google Ads API with several notable features. Text guidelines support is now available for Performance Max and Search campaigns, allowing programmatic control of AI-generated text assets.
This update uses a PMC cover because no suitable source image was available when checked on 8 Sept 2026. Available source and video links are retained.
What changed
A new feature YouTubeVideoUploadService enables uploading and managing videos directly through the API. New frequency metrics (unique_users_two_plus through unique_users_ten_plus) report how many users saw your ad at least 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times. Additionally, YOUTUBE_FOLLOW_ON_VIEWS conversion tracking is now available to track users who watch an ad and later watch a video from the same channel.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means API users can now automate brand safety controls and gain deeper frequency insights.
