Google Ads · Status at source date: Account observation

Ask Advisor appears in Google Ads billing reports

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Marcin Wsół shared a Google Ads billing interface offering report creation with Ask Advisor on 3 November. The option groups billing reports using suggested campaign groups or Google Ads campaign types. PPC News Feed covered the observation on 5 November.

What changed

The screenshot and original account report establish a visible reporting option. Wsół says it is appearing in selected accounts and explicitly leaves wider availability uncertain. No reviewed Google announcement establishes a universal activation date, so this remains an account observation rather than a confirmed rollout to every advertiser.

The distinction matters because a new way to organise a billing report is not a change to the charges themselves. It also does not establish that the assistant can amend an invoice, change payment settings or decide how an accountant should allocate costs. Those capabilities are not demonstrated in the source.

For an agency reconciling spend across campaign groups, the practical value is a potentially quicker starting point for the report. Before using a suggested grouping in a client statement, compare the included campaigns and date range with the intended reporting period. Keep the account’s billing records as the reference for the amounts actually charged.

Campaign-type groupings and business-unit groupings can answer different questions. A business unit may run both Search and Performance Max, while the same campaign type may support several business units. A useful review therefore checks the membership of a group rather than accepting its label as a complete explanation of spend.

The accompanying screenshot is credited to Wsół as the original account observer identified in the reviewed material. The publication date records that observation; the later PPC News Feed article remains supporting coverage. The feature’s test population, exact release date and behaviour in other account types have not been established. Teams without the option should not treat its absence as a billing fault.
