What changed

To enable it, first activate UCP in your e-commerce platform (Shopify is rolling this out gradually). Then add the native_commerce attribute to your feed via a supplemental feed or primary feed with custom attributes, using a boolean value of 1 (enabled) or 0 (disabled) for each product. Feed rules don't yet support this attribute.

The attribute already works in Merchant Centre despite not being publicly documented.

THE COLLECTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Why it matters for advertisers

For you, this means preparing your product feeds now for AI-powered commerce, positioning your products to be discoverable and purchasable by AI agents as this technology becomes mainstream.
