Uploaded Display Ads are now available in Demand Gen campaigns
Dario Zannoni has also flagged the appearance of Uploaded Display Ads in Demand Gen campaigns, a new format that allows up to 20 static images in classic display sizes (300×250, 120×600, and others) in GIF, JPG, or PNG format. Ads created in this format will run exclusively on the Google Display Network.

What changed
The feature is currently visible in some accounts when the Display Network is included as a destination during ad group creation.
The expansion narrows the gap between Demand Gen and the legacy Display campaign type, though Demand Gen still lacks placement-level controls and HTML5 creative support. Whether this signals a longer-term consolidation of Display into Demand Gen remains unconfirmed.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means advertisers with established static display creative libraries can now run those assets through a Demand Gen workflow rather than maintaining a separate Display campaign: particularly relevant where Demand Gen is already the primary upper-funnel channel.
