Google Ads · Status at source date: Account observation

Campaign creation can start from a text prompt in some accounts

Written by Paid Media Collective
IN BRIEF

Some accounts see a new first step in campaign creation: enter a website URL, describe the campaign goal in plain language and let Google AI suggest goals and assets, with "Create campaign manually" still available. Dima (@skills_web) posted the test on 9 October and Ginny Marvin confirmed it as an experiment the same day; Vivek Gupta saw it in his account this week and notes it is still rolling out. Junior team members may be guided into AI-suggested goals, so agree a review step before any prompt-built campaign goes live.

Earlier coverage and context (2026-10-23)

Vivek Gupta reports a Google Ads campaign-creation screen that invites advertisers to describe their goal in a prompt. His screenshot shows an optional website URL and retains a route to create a campaign manually.

The observed screen changes the starting point of the workflow, but it does not establish a first-ever launch of AI-assisted campaign creation. Google has offered conversational assistance before, and the account image alone cannot determine how widely this particular interface is available.

Gupta describes the feature as still rolling out. No independent eligibility list or universal availability statement was established in the sources reviewed, so this remains a practitioner account observation.

How to review a generated starting point

A prompt can express the intended outcome, but it does not replace a campaign specification. Check the suggested objective, conversion actions, geography, budget and destination before proceeding. Those choices determine what the campaign is configured to achieve, regardless of how the initial proposal was produced.

Treat suggested copy and assets as drafts. Verify claims against the product or service, ensure the landing page supports the message, and remove anything that relies on an assumption the advertiser did not supply. For an established account, compare the proposal with existing campaigns to avoid creating overlapping targeting or duplicate structures.

The manual option visible in the screenshot remains relevant for advertisers who already have a defined setup. This report does not recommend one creation method over another or claim that prompt-led setup improves performance.

Vivek is credited for the observed interface. The image is his source screenshot; the exact original posting date and the interface’s rollout date remain unconfirmed. The source was checked on 23 October 2026.
