Pickup cost and minimum order values become required in UK, Switzerland and the EEA from 30 September
Google Merchant Centre has detailed new requirements for local inventory ads and free local listings. A new pickup_cost attribute lets merchants specify pickup costs for in-store products, enabling accurate total costs to be shown on local inventory ads and free local listings.

What changed
The attribute is available now. From 30 September 2026, the pickup_cost and minimum_order_value attributes will be required in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and all EEA countries for in-store products enabled for pickup that have pickup costs or minimum order values applied on the merchant website.
Emmanuel Flossie has flagged the change and notes the operational scope: the requirement applies to any merchant running in-store pickup as part of their local inventory feed in the affected regions. Merchants without pickup costs or minimum order values don't need to populate the attributes. For those that do, please ensure they're accurate; otherwise, you'll face feed-level disapprovals starting 30 September.
Why it matters for advertisers
For you, this means UK, Swiss, and EEA local inventory advertisers should audit their pickup configuration before the September deadline. Particularly relevant for omnichannel retailers, where pickup terms have historically been available only on the website, with no equivalent representation in the Merchant Centre feed.
