Google Tag Manager adds tag-type filtering.

Google Tag Manager now lets you filter the tag list by tag type, with multiple filters applied at once, such as viewing only GA4 and Microsoft Clarity tags. Search previously acted as a rough filter, but this works by type directly.

Google Tag Manager adds a guided setup for Google Ads conversions

Vivek Gupta has flagged a new Guided Setup card in Google Tag Manager that auto-creates the tags, triggers, and variables for Google Ads purchase-conversion tracking, currently in beta. It aims to cut the manual steps behind a common setup.

Google Tag Manager fixes containers installed on the wrong path

Simo Ahava has flagged that Google Tag Manager now automatically restores full capabilities to containers installed on the /gtag/ path rather than /gtm/, which previously ran only Google tags. A GTM container ID (GTM-XXXX) in either snippet now unlocks all tags, while a Google tag ID, such as G- or AW-, still permits only Google tags.

Anthropic

Claude Enterprise adds granular analytics and cost controls

Anthropic is adding usage analytics and cost controls for Claude Enterprise admins. Agentic work produces distinct usage patterns compared to standard chat, and admins now have clearer visibility.

GTM documents improved measurement of server-to-server conversions

Google has updated its Tag Manager documentation to improve the measurement of server-to-server conversions in the Tag Manager help centre, effective 22 June 2026. The update clarifies how server-to-server conversion events are measured and deduplicated, part of the wider push toward server-side measurement resilience as client-side signals erode.

BigQuery

BigQuery conversational analytics reaches general availability

Google has made BigQuery conversational analytics generally available, flagged by Luka Cempre. The capability lets teams build data agents on top of BigQuery data: tables, views, and other sources: and query them in natural language, lowering the barrier to self-serve analysis.

June's Demand Gen Drop adds video resizing, Gemini creative insights, and web-to-app measurement

Google has published its June Demand Gen Drop on the Ads & Commerce blog, detailing how it is expanding Demand Gen capabilities on YouTube. Video enhancements now support broader aspect-ratio transformations: vertical to square, vertical to landscape, and square to landscape: making it easier to adapt a single asset across placements.

Google releases Agent Skills for advertising and measurement

Google has launched a set of Agent Skills for Google Advertising and Measurement in its public skills repository on GitHub, announced on the Google Ads Developer Blog. Agent Skills are token-efficient, modular instruction sets that turn AI coding assistants into Google Ads and measurement specialists: for example, guiding an agent through setting up Google Ads API credentials and a client library inside an agentic IDE.

Google merges enhanced conversions for web and leads into one toggle

Google has unified enhanced conversions for web and enhanced conversions for leads into a single setting, flagged by Matteo Zambon. From June 2026, the long-standing distinction between the two disappears from the Google Ads interface, with one toggle now controlling both.

Amazon Ads

Amazon Ads adds multi-touch attribution to Sponsored Products

Amazon has introduced a multi-touch attribution toggle in the Sponsored Products reporting console, flagged by Liran Hirschkorn and also covered by Ivan Marynych. In beta for US advertisers, it sits alongside the existing last-touch model and shares sales credit across multiple ads that influenced a purchase, rather than handing all the credit to the last ad clicked or seen.

Google Tag Manager details the Google Tag Gateway for advertisers

Google has published documentation on the Google Tag Gateway for advertisers in the Tag Manager help centre on Google Cloud Platform. The gateway routes Google tag requests through an advertiser's own first-party infrastructure on Google Cloud, improving measurement resilience against ad blockers and browser restrictions while keeping data collection first-party.

Google Analytics

Google Business Profile is gaining a native link to Google Analytics

Google has documented a native integration between Google Business Profile and Google Analytics, allowing local engagement metrics to appear alongside website data in GA4. Once linked, advertisers can track calls, bookings, direction requests, website clicks, and total interactions in one dashboard, with roughly six months of profile data available.

Microsoft Advertising sets a 2 September date to fix UTM reporting in GA4

Microsoft has emailed advertisers confirming that Microsoft Advertising will update UTM auto-tagging from 2 September 2026, first spotted by Anthony Higman and detailed by Arpan Banerjee. From that date, format-specific UTM tags are applied automatically so that Search, Audience, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns report distinctly by campaign type in GA4 and other analytics platforms, replacing the universal tagging that previously lumped them together as Paid Search.

Google moves the GA4 Measurement Protocol into maintenance mode

Google has quietly placed the GA4 Measurement Protocol into maintenance mode, flagged by Vlad Simion and Nichelle Halstrom. No sunset date has been announced, so this is not a shutdown notice, but Google has signalled that no future enhancements are planned and is pointing server-side event collection toward the Data Manager API instead.

Google Tag Manager publishes details on the upcoming container update

Google has released a support page detailing the upcoming Google Tag / Google Tag Manager container update, flagged by Simo Ahava. A GTM container will now function as a fully operational Google Tag in itself, and any additional Google Tags added as destinations will benefit from optimised loading, shared settings, and a mutual permissions model.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity expands AI Bot Activity with a deeper Bot Analytics dashboard

Microsoft Clarity has updated its AI Bot Activity feature with an enhanced Bot Analytics dashboard, giving teams more detail on how AI crawlers and automated agents interact with their content. The dashboard now measures AI bot requests (total volume from crawlers and automated systems), AI bot traffic share, the proportion of pages crawled, a request status breakdown showing which requests succeed, redirect, or fail, and CDN violations that detect bots accessing paths disallowed by robots.txt.

Enhanced Conversions, Google Tag Manager gets major upgrades

Two foundational measurement tools get GA-level upgrades. Enhanced Conversions is being unified: combining the previously separate web and lead conversion tools into a single streamlined Enhanced Conversions module with end-to-end diagnostics, flexible setup via website tags or API imports, and a unified workflow.

Google Meridian

Meridian Studio pilots a Cloud-based UI for MMM at enterprise scale

Meridian Studio is a new Google Cloud-built enterprise platform that empowers measurement teams to build, manage, and customise Meridian models at scale through a UI-based workflow. The platform offers faster compute, enterprise-level model deployment, and the ability to run hundreds of models simultaneously: maintaining the open-source Meridian methodology while adding data security, automation, and ease-of-use features.

Google Tag

Google Tag Gateway expands with new CDN integrations

Google Tag Gateway: the first-party server-side tagging architecture: is expanding with new in-UI integrations to Google Cloud (beta), Fastly, Akamai, Webflow, Duda, and Cloudflare. The integrations enable advertisers to upgrade tags to serve from their site's own server without retagging, improving measurement signal performance and resilience while adding confidential computing by default.
