Meta finally adds Ad Scheduling alongside Budget Scheduling

Matias Axel Ramayo has flagged that, after long providing only "budget scheduling," Meta has finally added ad scheduling: letting advertisers show ads only within business hours, which is particularly relevant for messaging campaigns to avoid low-quality 3am messages. Previously possible only via total budget configuration (tedious to set up), the new ad scheduling provides a simpler, modifiable schedule based on the fan page's operating hours.

LinkedIn launches paid power-user advice product

Matt Navarra has flagged a new LinkedIn product: power users will soon be paid to give advice. The launch positions LinkedIn power users as paid advisors inside the LinkedIn platform: answering questions, providing tactical guidance, and earning revenue directly from the advice they share, in a model similar to Substack's paid newsletters or Cameo's celebrity messaging.

Meta Content Features are activated by default at the account level: campaign-level opt-outs are no longer enough

Matias Axel Ramayo has surfaced a quiet but consequential Meta Ads default change, with the original spot credit going to Carolina Arjona Moyano. Content Features: the Meta setting that lets the system apply AI-driven creative improvements to image and video assets (enhancements, edits, automated variations): is now automatically activated at the account level for all advertisers.

Instagram launches Instants for share-in-the-moment content

Meta has launched Instagram Instants, a new content surface for share-in-the-moment posts that sit between Stories and Reels in the Instagram content ecosystem. Instants are positioned as ephemeral content with a longer shelf life than Stories but shorter than Reels, designed for casual real-time sharing rather than polished content production.

WhatsApp launches incognito chat with Meta AI

Meta has launched incognito chat with Meta AI inside WhatsApp: letting users interact with Meta AI in a private mode that doesn't surface in chat history, doesn't influence Meta AI's memory of the user's preferences, and doesn't feed back into Meta's training data. The launch aligns with WhatsApp's broader privacy positioning and addresses user concerns about Meta AI's data handling on the messaging surface.

Meta Ads handling of spending-limited ad sets gets smarter

Matias Axel Ramayo has flagged a quiet but consequential Meta Ads behavioural change: when an ad within an ad set reaches its spending limit (delivery, frequency, or budget cap), Meta now redistributes the remaining budget to the higher-performing ads in the same ad set rather than splitting it equally. The change is part of Meta's broader auction-mechanic refinement and isn't formally announced.

Meta renames Detailed Targeting to Advantage+ Detailed Targeting

Meta has renamed the Detailed Targeting option to Advantage+ Detailed Targeting, aligning the audience-targeting feature with Meta's broader Advantage+ branding. VIVEK GUPTA has flagged the rename with its strategic framing: this aligns with Meta's broader Advantage+ direction, where the system suggests interests, behaviours, and demographics aligned with campaign goals: but advertisers retain control over the configuration.

Meta launches dedicated Lead Nurturing section in Ads Manager

Meta has added a dedicated Lead Nurturing section to Ads Manager, surfaced by Bram Van der Hallen. The section consolidates lead-nurture workflows: follow-up sequences, retargeting setups, and lead-quality scoring: into a single Ads Manager surface, rather than scattering them across audience setup, campaign settings, and external integrations.

Meta has launched AI-powered translation for paid ads, extending the AI translation feature that has been live for organic Reels and videos. Meta consolidates Value Rules into Placement, Audience, and Conversion location groups

Meta is rolling out a Value Rules redesign that consolidates the feature into three distinct criteria groups: Placement, Audience, and Conversion location: and surfaces them contextually in Ads Manager rather than only in the legacy Advertising settings interface. Bram Van der Hallen has surfaced the change with a screenshot showing the new "Placement value rules" section appearing directly in the Placements selection step.

New WhatsApp placement appearing in the Meta Ads campaign setup

David Vargas has surfaced what appears to be a new WhatsApp placement option in Meta Ads, which appears in a pop-up during web-to-app campaign group creation. Messaging requires user consent, but for brands that have invested in conversational-commerce flows, the reach is material.

Meta faces a class action over scam advertising revenue

Jasmine Vyas has flagged a new class action lawsuit against Meta in Washington D.C., using the District's unfair and deceptive practices (UDAP) law. Internal Meta documents published in December 2025 showed Meta projected $16 billion in revenue from scam and banned product ads: the basis for the legal argument that Meta has knowingly profited from advertising it should have prevented.

Meta auto-enables Related Media on existing ads

Belita Ribeiro has flagged that Meta is automatically enabling "Related Media" on new and existing ads, pulling additional creative assets into ads without operator approval. Meta updates transparency requirements for ad-buying solutions

Meta has updated its developer policies covering separate ad accounts and transparency for ad-buying solutions, with the transparency provisions taking effect on 3 February 2027. The updated Separate Ad Accounts policy continues to require that end advertisers be kept in distinct ad accounts, with an exception: ad-buying solutions implementing vendor_id and/or brand fields in their Product Catalogue and/or Pixel and CAPI integrations are exempt from the separate-account requirement, provided the fields are properly implemented, and other terms are met.

TikTok lets creators add and remove keywords from post metadata

TikTok has rolled out an update letting creators add and remove keywords from post metadata, giving brands and creators direct input into how content surfaces in TikTok search. The change addresses one of TikTok's longest-running discoverability gaps: content has historically surfaced based on caption text, hashtags, and inferred topics, with no explicit keyword layer for creators to control.
